San Martin CA Real Estate
With a population of around 7,000 people, San Martin in California is a beautiful place to live near the San Jose region. Oddly enough, it’s not really considered a city or town, but a CDP (census designated place) by the government. That doesn’t stop the locals from enjoying this living area right near the Pacific coast. With about 11 square miles making up this place, it was created by Martin Murphy who built a Catholic Church there in the mid 1800’s, when he purchased a large plot of land after immigrating from Ireland.
Real Estate Is Booming Here in San Martin

The median home price is fairly high at almost $500,000, which is fine considering that the average income is over $100,000. It’s also close to San Francisco (about 65 miles), so some people who work in that area commute there on a weekly basis. The housing market is less expensive comparatively in San Martin because it’s over a million dollars in the San Francisco area.
